Providing services to young people who are vulnerably housed or in acute housing need

South Ayrshire Nightstop is an organisation which provides services to young people, aged 16 to 25 who are vulnerably housed or in acute housing need.

Nightstop can provide emergency accommodation to young people in the homes of approved volunteer hosts, for one night at a time. The placement service can also offer more longer stay placements these placements will be reviewed and extended when appropriate.

Nightstop also have a social networking service which matches young people with volunteer befreinders to support more choices, more chances.

Nightstop also has a service called newstart capsule. This service offers practical items on loan to young people when they move into their own homes.

Nightstop schemes across the UK have provided 60,000 nights of accommodation to 30,000 young people since the first scheme in Leeds took up referrals in 1987 this figure increases each and every night.
