Ayrshire Volunteers
South Ayrshire Nightstop is an organisation which depends on volunteers. We have a strong core of volunteer’s who are actively involved in a diverse range of roles. All volunteers receive comprehensive and on-going training; receive home visits and 24hr On Call support. New volunteers are introduced to experienced ones via meetings, social events and training. These are organised to enable volunteers to meet and share experiences. All expenses are reimbursed. Due to the nature of our work, enhanced disclosure checks are carried out on all potential volunteers in addition to two personal references. Home assessment visits are included for hosts.
Why volunteer for South Ayrshire Nightstop?
There are a whole range of reasons why people volunteer for us. Many are motivated by wanting to make a practical difference to the lives of young people in their local community at a time when they are at their most vulnerable. Some people volunteer to gain experience within the homelessness sector with a view to gaining employment in social care field. Some people have had experience of homelessness themselves and want to give back.
